After a brief disappearing act ( caused by the crashing of my computer ) I have returned
This is a shot from Cedar Falls from my Christmas trip north to the great state of Ohio
How's it work composition wise?
Wow this is absolutely great. The only thing i could suggest compositionally would be to have the waterfall more to the right instead of centered. But that is just my humble opinion. Great great shot tho!!! seriously
i like it.. great colors and everything... the only thing i would say compositionally is that the falls competes with the tree for attention... anything to kinda lessen that and that would be the only thing i could see to improve...
Wow, excellent colors! With the reddish hues on the ground, it almost seems like a mystical place..all you need now is a unicorn and some waterfall mist
I dunno. I mean, first of all, like 95% of your work, I love the shot. Love it.
But in response to your question, I'm torn. I like the composition. Definitely nothing technically wrong with it that I see. But there's something bugging me too... I think it may be that the tree distracts from the falls and the falls distract from the tree. I'm left with my eyes fighting over which is supposed to be the focal point. Perhaps ~narmansk8's suggestion would clear it up for me...
I know... I'm not really being much help here... Suffice it to say, it's still a wonderful image. Incidentally, the colors really stand out beautifully and lend a lot to the shot.

Across the globe, 27 million men, women, and children live in some form of slavery. That is more people at this moment than in all the centuries of the Atlantic Slave Trade. Something must be done. This contest serves two purposes: Raising awareness about human trafficking and raising funds for the Not For Sale organization.
Open to all mediums. Deadline is March 10, 2010 @ 11:59pm PST.
